Small Wins Log- September 7, 2026

Today’s Energy: Okay

One small win at work: I worked Labor Day today. It was crazy-busy today, and was very hectic. However, I survived an 8-hour shift and I banked in on the holiday overtime pay! I even get paid for just Labor Day itself whether or not I work it.

One small win at home: Yesterday, my mother and I went to our local amusement park, Kings Island. It is in Mason, Ohio, about a 45-minute drive south for us. We primarily went for the Soak City water park but I did a few hours in the amusement park portion. I go for the big rides! I always do Orion, a steel giga* roller coaster , and Banshee, a seven-inversion steel inverted roller coaster. Since I was in my swim attire, I also rode White Water Canyon, a river rapids ride. We had a good time, even if it was a little too cool and breezy to swim a lot that day. I just soaked my feet in the pool and soaked my body under the waterfall. However, I can only tolerate screaming kids running around for a short period of time. My sensory issues start to show unless I fully submerge myself in the waterfall. And in the park I treated myself to an ice cream sundae. Graeter’s Ice Cream “Cookie Monster Sundae,” 2 scoops of Cookie Dough, 2 scoops of Cookies & Cream, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and hot fudge syrup. Yum!

*Vocabulary term – Giga – a roller coaster with either a lift hill and/or highest drop height of 300-399ft (91.4m-121.6m). A handful of them exist on Earth. Since Orion has a 300ft drop, even with a lift hill height of 287ft, it does qualify as a giga coaster.

One small win for myself: I’m down to 200lbs now, my target weight. Almost 10 years ago I was 255lbs. Now I’m down to 200 pounds or below. The next goal is to keep that weight off for at least a year. Or more accurately, as long as possible.

What helped this week: I try to keep myself motivated to do what I need to do at home, both in chores and personally. I don’t want to be a procrastinator. Nor do I want fatigue to run my life for me! I do my best to keep myself awake and moving.

What hurt me: I have a bad habit of sleeping through my alarm clock! And even worse habit of falling asleep during the middle of the day. Sometimes, I relax myself to rest via ASMR (Automated Sensory Meridian Response) videos. But then I doze off for a few hours or more! I gotta be careful not to mess up my sleep schedule!

That’s enough. In progress. Until next time, I’m outta here…
